I caught this gem from ESPN this morning. Curt Schilling had shoulder surgery yesterday to repair his right biceps tendon and labrum. He hasn't thrown yet this year, and this surgery will insure that he doesn't pitch for the rest of the season. What astonishes me is that he wants to pitch again next season. In case you don't know, he will be 42 years old next year. I don't know about you, but if I had season-ending shoulder surgery at that age, I'd strongly consider hanging up my cleats. If he does pitch again next year, it just might be possible that Curt Schilling is Superman.
